Vehicles with timing belts have recommended timing belt replacement intervals. For example, Honda Accord timing belts should be replaced every 90,000 miles. Replacing the timing belt by the time it is recommended will prevent damage that will be caused by the timing belt breaking. For most vehicles, we also recommend replacing the water pump at the same time, which prevents you from having to replace it later with the same labor time as the timing belt.
